University of Washington Medical Center is one of the inter-nation's leading educational medical centers, which provides good specialized medical care in areas such as high-risk pregnancy, cardiology and neonatal intensive care, oncology, organ transplantation and orthopedics. Patients travel from across Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho for these specialized services. 
Entering students at this University of Washington School of Medicine are divided into six colleges categories: Rainier,Denali, Big Ski, Snake River,Wind River and Columbia River, all named in world natural wonders. Every college has its own mentors who counsel students throughout their 4 years in school. Students can earn an M.D. or a PhD, and about 10 students in one year can earn both through the Medical Scientist Training Program.

History -


The University of Washington Medical Center opened as University Hospital in 1959. It was one of the nation’s smallest teaching hospitals when it opened, but currently an university became a leader in health-care innovation.
